To provide you with an online space to ask questions, share links and resources and get feedback on their job search, we've created a North Central Career Club LinkedIn Group. This is a facilitated group for Career Club members and facilitators ONLY.

If You Have a LinkedIn Account

If you already have a LinkedIn account and profile, then go here to request approval to join the group
One of the site moderators will need to approve your membership before you can participate in the group, something we will generally do within 24 hours.

If You Do Not Have a LinkedIn Account

To participate in our LinkedIn Group, you first need to have a LinkedIn account. If you do not have one, then follow these steps:

1. Sign up here for your free account.

2. Go to our LinkedIn Group here and request to join.

Once you complete the request, the moderators have to approve it, which may take up to 24 hours.
3. When you get a chance, also check out this New User Guide to complete your profile and make the most of LinkedIn. 

Participating in the Group

The main way we can interact through the LinkedIn Group is through Discussions.
Discussions can be on any topic--like a question you have about your job search or maybe a good link that you've found that you want to share with others. You can start your own discussion or you can comment on a discussion that someone else has started.

Guidelines for Participation

The North Central Career Club LinkedIn Group is a professional networking and support group. As a professional group, we of course want to observe the standard code of conduct for the workplace--professional language, focusing on professional topics, etc. Please feel free to use the group to ask questions about your job search, share job leads with other Career Club members, provide support and advice and make professional connections. It's the give and take in the group that will make it great!

On occasion, some topics can get heated, so we just ask that you read your responses carefully and make sure that everything you post in the LinkedIn Group is respectful and represents you well in the job search process.

We reserve the right to remove any postings that contain profanity or content that's inappropriate for the group. If you see something that concerns you, click on the "Flag" button underneath the topic to alert the moderators. We want our LinkedIn Group to be a welcoming, helpful resource for everyone.

Starting a Discussion

Participating in an Existing Discussion

If you want to participate in an existing discussion--maybe respond to a question or give your opinion--find the topic you want to reply to and click on the "Comment" link below the topic. This will take you to the discussion where you can type and post your reply.
